World Literacy of Canada is honoured to be be launching True Patriot Love: Four Generations in Search of Canada, a new book by Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff. The launch will be held at Convocation Hall on May 8th, 2009 at 7pm and will be presented in association with Penguin Group (Canada), 2008 Publisher of the Year. All proceeds to support World Literacy of Canada’s literacy and community development projects.

World Literacy of Canada believes that poverty is the worst form of violence and that literacy offers a way out. Literacy is freedom, empowerment, opportunity, and hope. Reading and writing are fundamental to the creation of a better world where knowledge and power are equally shared. World Literacy of Canada supports community-based programs that emphasize adult literacy and non-formal education for both children and adults.
